Jenny has worked for AWARD as a Research Officer since September 2005. Jenny was previously employed at CSPRD as a Research Officer, also within IMSCaR, from January 2005, when she was engaged in ‘Promoting the Health of Older People in Respect of Alcohol Use’ review, and the ‘Older People and Ageing Research & Development Network (OPAN), Social care scoping study-literature/online/database review’ for the Welsh Assembly Government working with Dr Vanessa Burholt. Jenny’s research interests lie in the sociology of education, social gerontology – the health and social care of BME’s and LGBT’s, and qualitative research methods. Her particular areas of expertise are ethnography, discourse analysis, ethnomethodology and conversation analysis. Jenny is currently engaged on the Carers Strategy in England (for the DoH) and the Carers Strategy in Wales (for the WAG) projects with Dr Catherine Robinson and Dr Diane Seddon; the OPSIR (Older People’s Strategy Interim Review) for the WAG, with Catherine Robinson, Diane Seddon and Gill Windle, in collaboration with AWARD at Swansea.
