I joined AWARD in South East Wales in August 2005 as Senior Research Fellow based at the Cardiff Institute of Society, Health and Ethics. I have worked in public health, social and policy research for many years, mostly in the UK health service, but also in social welfare in the USA, with lots of work being cross-agency and multi-disciplinary. I have experience of national and local policy development and evaluation. I have an MSc in Policy Studies, and have recently been awarded my PhD from Bristol University, School for Policy Studies. My principal research interests are in the policy process; community and user participation in decision-making; health behaviour and improvement and community approaches to tackling inequalities in health.
